MapleMBSE – Systems Engineering for All Project Stakeholders – Maplesoft

Systems Engineering Features in MapleMBSE

Accelerate the introduction of MBSE in your Digital Enterprise initiatives

  • Rapid, consistent integration of engineering content
  • Reduce organizational resistance to new processes

Watch: Introducing MapleMBSE - Systems Engineering: Connected
MapleMBSE Systems Engineering: Connected

MapleMBSE is an Excel-based tool that makes it easy for every stakeholder to engage with the Systems Engineering (SE) project without requiring them to be an expert in your primary SE tools.

By giving all stakeholders access to the process through a live, two-way connection to your system model, you can ensure that all stakeholders can collaborate through the system model, allowing them to work faster, avoid errors, and reduce unbudgeted costs.

  • Intuitive, Excel®-based interface allows all stakeholders to feed into the system model with almost no learning curve
  • Automatic population of information between tools, ensuring that information will always be up to date in both MapleMBSE and your system model
  • Integration with industry-standard MBSE platforms
  • Rapid impact analysis of design decisions to test for conflicting requirements, all from within the intuitive MapleMBSE environment
  • Create optimized tool views. Click here to see list of Use Cases
  • Powerful Spreadsheet Features not found in your primary SE tool
    • Flexible cut & paste with all style and value conversions
    • Data validation and duplicate detection
    • Excel-based formula capabilities
    • Edit almost all of your system model, not just dependencies
    • Use bidirectional Query Path Expression (QPE) language to flexibly query model elements
    • Simply add new rows or columns to create new model elements
  • Customized implementations provided by Maplesoft Engineering Solutions experts to ensure that MapleMBSE is tailored to your exact systems engineering process

What is QPE and how does it help?

MapleMBSE is designed around smooth synchronized communication with the System Model. A Query Path Expression (QPE) is an expression that queries the system model for model elements and attribute values. QPEs are defined based on the modeling tool you want to connect with. QPE has been developed as a variant of the open-source XPath expression language.

A Query Path Expression (QPE) is an expression that queries the systems model for model elements and attribute values.

Systems engineers use QPEs to:

  • Perform a tree-based model transformation of your System Model
  • Query key model elements and their properties
  • Help you manage traceability in your model
  • Check and maintain model quality and consistency

Further details of the use and syntax of QPE can be seen in the MapleMBSE Configuration Guide.
